Room makeover on a budget: see it in the room before you spend

A budget room makeover goes wrong in one of two ways: you buy cheap pieces that don't work together, or you buy nothing because you can't picture the result. Below are three real rooms the Lilita's Studio system designed in lowest-price mode, each with its total and every product linked: a $158 bedroom refresh that keeps the bed, a $296 home office, and a complete $851 Japandi bedroom.

The plan behind the room

Lowest-price mode keeps the room's architecture and the style contract and picks the least expensive listing that passes the style and function checks in each category. When a room already has its large pieces, the list is a refresh (curtains, a mirror, a plant, ceramics); when it doesn't, the list includes the bed, the nightstands and the dresser.

What if I don't like the result?

Questions about this room

What is a good budget for a room makeover?
A few hundred dollars buys a refresh (curtains, mirror, lamps, textiles) or a complete lowest-price home office; about $850 buys a complete lowest-price bedroom with bed, nightstands and dresser; $1,500 to $2,500 buys a starter living room with a real sofa. The trick is spending it in the right order: large pieces first, decor last.
What is the cheapest way to make over a bedroom?
Keep the bed frame, add a rug, two lamps, new bedding in two textures and one curtain. Those five changes cost a few hundred dollars and change the room more than a new frame.
How much does the average room makeover cost?
It depends on the room: bedrooms and offices from a few hundred dollars with a lowest-price list, living rooms from about $1,500 for a starter setup and $3,000 – $7,000 mid-range (Opendoor). The lists on this page are real, complete totals.
Can I get this exact plan for my own room?
Yes. Upload one photo of your room, pick the style, and the Lilita's Studio system renders your room (same walls, windows and floor) and sources every piece from live retail listings inside your budget. The Design Direction Preview is free; the full Design Shopping Kit is part of the $49.99 Design Pack, which covers three rooms.
Are these products still available at these prices?
The list shows the products and prices the system found on the date noted on this page. Retail prices and stock change; confirm on the store page before buying. Your own kit is sourced live when your room is designed.
